Attention Journal respects your privacy.
The app works fully without an account. By default, your events, reflections, and journal entries are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.
Optional sync
You may choose to sign in with Google to sync your journal across your devices. If you do, your events and reflections — together with your Google account identifier, name, and email address — are stored in Google Firebase (Realtime Database) under your account, so that your signed-in devices can share the same journal.
Signing out stops syncing on that device but does not delete the copy already stored in Firebase. To have your synced data removed, contact us at the address below.
Analytics
When you first open the app it asks whether it may collect usage statistics (Firebase Analytics: launches, time in the app, which features are used). If you allow it, an identifier is used so that returning use can be recognised, your choice is remembered on this device and the question is not asked again. If you decline, the app works the same and keeps your archive on your device as usual, but only anonymous counts (no identifier) are sent, your choice is not remembered, and the question is asked again at the next launch. Syncing across devices requires allowing statistics. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
The website (not the app) uses Google Analytics to count visits. Its cookies are set only if you accept them in the banner; if you decline, only cookieless counts are sent. You can change your choice with “Cookie settings” in the footer.
The app does not sell personal data to third parties, and does not use advertising networks.
If future versions introduce purchases or additional data collection, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
